ENGLISH 2 E-PORTFOLIO

 

I am Nadia Irina Nafisah Binti Abdul Wahab, and I will be turning eighteen years old this December. I am currently in my second semester of the Diploma In Business course in Taylor’s University, which is located in Subang Jaya. I have six modules this semester, and one of the modules is English 2.

 

There are three levels for English in my course, which is English 1, English 2, and English 3, and they are the beginner, intermediate and advance level respectively. Therefore, I am currently taking English 2, which is the intermediate level for English in my course as I have passed English 1 with flying colours last semester. In English 2, half of my final grade would be from doing the coursework, while another half would be from doing the final exam, and the most important component of the coursework was my group assignment as it is worth 30% of my final grade.

 

My group members and I had to work on writing a biography about a successful entrepreneur of our own choice, and we had chosen Michelle Phan as the successful entrepreneur that we admire. As I was the group leader, I had allocated all of my group members with equal amount of work, and since we had four topics to cover for the assignment, I gave each of my group members with one topic each and I had to work on the topic of “Reasons For Admiring Michelle Phan” where I had to voice out my opinion for admiring her. Overall, the process of completing my group assignment went well, but I had a few small problems as my group members are not so fluent in their English as they were from Sabah, and I understand that. Therefore, I had to overcome this issue by proofreading their work and rephrasing most of their sentences to make it sound more professional and to also lessen their grammar and spelling mistakes as much as I could.
